Golf as My Laboratory

A collection of real rounds, real conversations and real observations from the golf course.

Every golfer has a different swing. Every golfer has a different story. Walking 18 holes together allows me to observe something that cannot be seen on a driving range or in a classroom. These moments have become my laboratory.

Every round begins with a conversation before it begins with a swing. Golf creates a unique environment where trust, curiosity and shared experiences naturally emerge. It is often in these moments, long before the first shot, that the mental side of the game quietly starts to reveal itself.

Every golfer brings a different personality, different expectations and a different way of responding to pressure. Playing alongside a wide variety of people has taught me that performance is never only about technique. Understanding how people think is just as important as understanding how they swing.

Golf has no age limit for learning. Every round offers an opportunity to exchange experiences, perspectives and lessons that go far beyond the scorecard. The course reminds us that mental performance is built through patience, respect and continuous learning.
Pedro Nogueira with fellow golfers of different generations on the course
One of golf's greatest strengths is its ability to connect people who would probably never meet anywhere else. Different professions, generations and life experiences come together through a shared passion for the game. Every new playing partner becomes another opportunity to observe how the mind performs under different circumstances.

Every golfer has a unique story, but the mental challenges are often remarkably similar. Confidence, doubt, focus and decision-making are part of every round, regardless of handicap or experience. The golf course has become my natural laboratory for observing these patterns in real time.

The most valuable conversations in golf rarely happen while someone is swinging. They happen during the walk between shots, when players reflect, analyse and process their decisions. Those moments often provide deeper insights into performance than the score itself.

The more people I play with, the more I realise that golf is a game played by individuals, not by stereotypes. Every round adds another perspective, another lesson and another opportunity to better understand how mindset influences performance. That continuous observation is one of the foundations behind the IDOMINDGOLF7 methodology.
