Pedro - Mental Performance Coach

The goal is not perfection. The goal is clarity, control, and better decisions on the course.

I am a mental performance coach with more than 25 years of experience working in demanding international environments where decision-making, emotional discipline, and execution under pressure were essential.

Throughout my career in high-level sales, negotiation, and leadership roles, I became deeply interested in how the mind influences performance. Over time, I developed a practical way of observing patterns in behavior and transforming those observations into structured mental frameworks that people can apply in real situations.

Mindset Before Skill

I played some of Pedro's very first rounds of golf with him, and what stood out immediately was not his technique, but his mindset. Like any beginner, he made mistakes, but the way he approached the game was completely different. There was a level of focus, observation, and mental structure that you don't usually see at that stage. As someone who has played golf for many years at a good level, I found that aspect genuinely inspiring. You could clearly see that his swing started in his mind — in how he thought, how he processed each shot, and how he stayed engaged with the game. I had no doubt that, with that kind of mindset, he would become a very solid player over time. Seeing his progress later only confirmed that first impression. It wasn't a surprise — it was a natural result of the mental approach he brought from the very beginning.

Clarity for Skilled Beginners

Starting golf can feel overwhelming, but playing with Pedro made the game much clearer and more structured for me. Instead of focusing on technical details, he guided me on how to think and approach each situation. One moment that stayed with me was when he introduced a simple concept he called 'Open Sesame' — focusing only on getting the ball safely onto the green. That shifted my mindset completely. Instead of overthinking everything, I had one clear objective, and suddenly the game felt more manageable and logical. What makes Pedro different is his intuitive way of coaching. He reads the moment, simplifies the situation, and gives you exactly what you need to move forward. I always felt guided without pressure, and that gave me confidence to keep improving. It wasn't about perfect shots — it was about building the right mindset, and that made me want to come back and play with him again and again.

Motivation Through Reinforcement

Playing with Pedro changed the way I experience my own game. What stood out immediately was how he celebrates good shots — not in an exaggerated way, but with a natural, grounded recognition of execution. That had a real impact on me. Before, I would move on too quickly, always focused on the next shot, rarely acknowledging what I did well. With Pedro, I started to understand the importance of celebrating small wins as part of the process. It builds confidence, reinforces good behavior, and keeps motivation alive during the round. At some point, I even found myself wanting to execute better just to hear that recognition — and more importantly, to feel it myself. It made me more engaged, more positive, and more consistent in how I approach the game.

Emotional Control Under Pressure

I've always been a very emotional player. At my level, expectations are high, and when things don't go as planned, it's easy to react — frustration, tension, sometimes even losing control on the course. What surprised me most playing with Pedro is that he never tried to correct me directly or tell me what I was doing wrong. Instead, his presence and the way he manages his own game had a natural regulating effect on me. I remember watching him hit a poor shot and calmly acknowledge it without denial, but also without overreaction — then continue with full commitment. That stayed with me. Over time, I started to mirror that behavior. I became more stable, more composed, and more consistent in my reactions. Even other players noticed the change and mentioned that I was a completely different person on the course. What's even more interesting is that this didn't stay only in golf. It influenced how I handle situations in my personal life as well. Playing with Pedro wasn't just about golf — it was an eye-opener on how to manage emotions and stay grounded under pressure.

Presence and Respect

I've played with many good players over the years, and often they try to correct or advise during the round. With Pedro, it was completely different. He simply played his game and allowed me to play mine, without interference. I felt very relaxed — more than usual — and that had a clear impact on how I played. It was such a positive experience that I invited him to play again with my friends.

These are not isolated moments. They are the result of a structured mental operating system applied on the course.
